At Major Tomato we always strive to find a better way to provide way better food. So what exactly do we mean when we say "better way...way better"? For starters, it's about the care we use in selecting our ingredients. Not only what's in our food. There's a tale to tell about what we always leave out: chemical additives, GMOs, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial sweeteners...bad for you, bad for the environment, just plain bad. We proudly choose organic products and ingredients whenever possible; locally raised, locally grown, and locally manufactured preferably, keeping our business and our dollars in support of the local economy.
Are we crazy to want our carbon footprint to be as small as possible? We don't think so. We recycle our butts off, clean dishes, floors and surfaces with certified biobased products, and avoid excessive heating and cooling in the building interior. We hope to install solar panels some day...or maybe put a windmill up in the alley if ok with the city. Whatever..
Finally, Major Tomato takes great pride in the commitment we've made to treat our employees a better way. We believe paying a good living wage yields dividends that more than compensate for the added cost. Our hope and expectation is that the skilled and talented staff at Major Tomato will stick for the long haul and stay as motivated going forward as they have been thus far.
We do things a better way, and we deliver way better food. Better way...way better!
